    You take center stage for the formal wear category, as you to glide across the stage in a formal gown fit for the queen in you! This phase of the competition will show the judges and the audience that you have the poise and sophistication to wear the crown well!

    Read More

     This phase of the competition gets you heard!! You will be asked a question which will take some forethought and imagination. You will judged on how well you respond and detailed your response is.

Omolara-Jola Lawal, Jola as she is affectionately called  is a 23 year old graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio  B.S. Degree in Finance.   She is currently enrolled at John Hopkins University in Columbus, Maryland  pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education. Long term educational plans include earning a doctorate degree in international education. After school she works as a financial analyst.  She has worked as a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, San Antonio Food Bank and the Boys and Club. She enjoys helping others in any way she can.  Her motto to live by is “as long as you have a gift or a talent, you have something to give. And as long as you have something to give, you can make a difference”.  Jola   loves being given the honor and distinct privilege of becoming 2016 Queen of Soul.  She defines a Queen as an example of dignity, trust and respect. She is a role model and a leader that represents herself, community and faith with a desire to help others.  She says representing San Antonio Queen of Soul  and meeting all the Fiesta Royalty  including King Antonio, Rey Feo and other Queens was an outstanding experience that will always be remembered.  Her personal Fiesta motto “enjoy the experience, there is none like it”.  Jola takes a positive look on life, pursuing career goals and making a difference.
